Whilst we’re always welcoming of warmer weather, one thing we’re not always so happy to welcome is that extra bit of shine our skin takes on during the Summer months. Whilst a touch here and there gives us a healthy glow, anything more just makes us look hot and sticky. To give skin a helping hand we have listed our four favourite products from our organic make-up ranges to help shun the shine this Summer.
Before we fill you in on our summer powder essentials, what is important to remember when applying your setter is that a little goes a long way – what we don’t want here is to completely cover your natural glow! Instead concentrate on only applying to areas that tend to be most prone to oil accumulation (most commonly the T-zone).
So with that said, here are our top setting and mattifying powders to keep close to hand this Summer...
RMS ‘Un’ Powder - This natural setting powder from Rms Beauty works in perfect unison with all skin types. Containing just one mineral, silica, what we love most about this setting powder is the fine non-nano particles that minimize shine and give a sheer coverage. Great for setting any make-up in place, we find the ‘Un’ Powder makes the perfect partner with the RMS ‘Un’ Cover-Up to give extra staying power.
ILIA Fade Into You Finishing Powder - A clever combination of ingredients make this great for city skin. Featuring a handy refillable brush component, this shine shunner is not only summer-skin friendly, but sustainable too! The addition of Aloe Leaf Extract, makes this great for skin prone to dryness and ensures you aren't left with a heavy, powdery finish. It also contains the antioxidant-rich Rosemary Oil which with has anti-inflammatory properties to help protect the skin from pollution.
How to Use: Remove cap and gently sweep over skin to set make-up or use on bare skin for a mattifying effect.
W3LL People’s Realist X Mineral Powder - Great for sensitive skin and the spot prone, W3LL People’s Realist X Mineral Powder features antioxidant rich green tea and soothing chamomile alongside antimicrobial arrowroot, making it a skin treatment and finishing powder in one.
