Why choose TPO-free gel polish?

TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide) is a photoinitiator used in many conventional gel polishes to help them cure under a lamp. It has come under increasing scrutiny, and alongside HEMA and di-HEMA - small, highly reactive monomers linked to nail and skin sensitisation - it’s one of the ingredients a growing number of people now choose to avoid and is now banned in the UK.

TPO-free gel polish does the same job differently. Kure Bazaar’s Biogel Keratine formula uses larger, low-penetration oligomers that sit on the nail rather than soaking into surrounding skin, which means the same up to 21-day wear and mirror shine with a far lower risk of a reaction.

What you need for an at-home gel manicure

A complete gel manicure runs in two prep steps: cleanse, prime, then base coat, two coats of colour, then top coat, each cured under an LED lamp.
